Hurtigruten Cruises

Whether you are interested in taking a 5-day, 6-day, 7-day, 11-day or a 12-day cruise, Hurtigruten Cruises has the perfect itinerary for all budgets and backgrounds. In fact, Hurtigruten offers both big and small ships cruises, as well as adventure cruises, and sightseeing cruises. Some cruises even stop in small towns and villages to deliver cargo.

“Hurtigruten” means “fast route” in Norwegian. In service since 1893, Hurtigruten sails to remote towns and villages throughout Norway’s 1,250-mile west coast. The villages and communities are often so remote, that some have fewer than 100 residents. The cruise line features 34 ports between Bergen and Kerkenes. Travelers can choose between Norway cruises, Antarctica Cruises, Spitsbergen Cruises, Greenland Cruises, and Europe Cruises.

Cruises take place aboard one of Hurtigruten’s dozen or so ships that travel along the Norwegian Coast. Hurtigruten’s fleet includes:

MS Lofoten
MS Kong Harald
MS Nordlys
MS Nordkapp
MS Nordnorge
MS Richard With
MS Polarlys
MS Nordstjernen
MS Finnmarken
MS Midnatsol
MS Trollfjord
MS Vesterålen

Hurtigruten ships have the capacity to hold anywhere from 400 to 1,000 passengers. Each ship has its’ own amenities and itineraries. For example, MS Trollfjord along with sister ships MS Midnatsol and MS Finnmarken, can hold 822, 1,000 and 1,000 passengers, respectively. The collection features cafes, bars, conference rooms, Jacuzzis, and exercise rooms.

Trollfjord offers 7-day voyages North, 12-day round voyages beginning in Bergen and making three final stops before returning in Torvik, Maloy, and Floro. Prices for cruises aboard Trollfjord typically begin at 1438 (EUR)/$1,827.84 (US).

On the smaller end of the fleet, MS Lofoten holds only 400 passengers. Although small, MS Lofoten is named a listed vessel by the Norwegian Director General of Historic Monuments. She offers 5-day, 6-day, and 11-day voyages along the Norwegian Coast including:
