In June of 2019 Royal Caribbean is launching the first Quantum Ultra-Class ship, which will have a capacity of just over 4,200 passengers. The ship will launch from Shanghai and offer 3, 4, and 5-night cruises to ports in China, Singapore, and Japan. And though this vessel is being custom built for the Chinese market, westerners are certain to enjoy the experience as well.
Part of what makes this Quantum Ultra-Class ship amazing is that there will specific areas reserved for Gold and Silver Suite guests only. These guests will be able to use a keycard to access a private elevator, a dedicated restaurant and lounge, an access only sunbathing deck and a shopping area which can be booked for a private shopping experience. These limited access areas are located on the fifteenth and sixteenth levels of the ship along with the Gold and Silver guest suites.
But just because a few levels require keycard access is no reason to think that all of the guests on the Spectrum cannot have a great time. Unique features for all to enjoy include the Ripcord IFLY indoor skydiving simulator, the Flowrider wave pool for surfboarding and body surfing, a running track, teen disco, and spa and fitness center.
There is also no shortage of pool activities for everyone to enjoy. Deck 14 offers four whirlpools and two pools in addition to Splashaway Bay the onboard water park. This is the home of the tallest waterslide at sea, the Ultimate Abyss, for the bravest passengers to try. Other great outdoor entertainment includes the Tidal Wave which is the only boomerang slide at sea, a zip line suspended nine decks above the boardwalk, and of course pool parties for all ages.
Indoors, kids will enjoy the arcade, laser tag, a teen hangout area, and kids spaces for all ages and interests. Kids can enjoy hands-on science experiments, create works of art, visit a theater or attend story time. Childcare is also available so that mom and dad can enjoy some time to just relax and enjoy their vacation.
And if all of these activities are not enough, there are a variety of shore excursions that can be booked including snorkeling, scuba diving, city tours, guided tours of historic locations and museums as well as bike and aerial adventures.
