A Floating Silicon Valley? Introducing Blueseed, the Newest Dream for a City at Sea
Lots of people want to start a technology company, lots of people want to work in the United States, and lots of people want to found a tech start-up and work in the United States. While starting a technology company is theoretically possible in many parts of the world, perhaps no place is as hospitable to the enterprise as Silicon Valley, land of the tech giants and source of seemingly endless investment resources. However, not just anyone can work in the U.S. (you need a work visa), but one might be able to work near the U.S., like on the Blueseed, a ship that, if built, would be a floating city of tech start ups where employees can both work and live long-term. Blueseed, which is both the name of the potential ship and the company that hopes to build it, would float 12 miles off the coast of California, in close proximity to Silicon Valley, but not subject to U.S. immigration laws, giving international tech start ups access to American resources without the hassle of work visas. Those Who Can Take A Last-Minute Cruise
Last-minute cruises are of great interest to many people. The last-minute deals available are often impressive, allowing people to take a cruise who might not otherwise be able to afford one. But given that last-minute cruises are only offered at (naturally) the last minute, you might wonder how anyone is able to take one. Cruises are a fairly elaborate undertaking and in general require some advanced planning. Who, then, is able to take a last-minute cruise? Are last-minute cruises available to only a select few? Last-Minute Cruises: An Introduction
Last-minute cruises are only available, of course, at the last minute. One takes a last-minute cruise because they often cost less than cruises booked within the normal time frame, which is several months before the cruise departs, as most people need to plan for a cruise fairly far in advanced. However, if you have a flexible lifestyle, last-minute cruises are an excellent opportunity to explore. As the title of this article suggests, this is an introduction to last-minute cruises, covering how they work and why they are a good value. Read more […] -
How to Book an RSVP Cruise
As we explained in a previous article about RSVP Cruises, it is not entirely clear what “RSVP Cruises” refers to. In looking for “RSVP Cruises,” one might be looking for the gay and lesbian cruises organized by RSVP Vacations, or one might be looking for the company Jerry and David’s Cruises and Tours, an agency that caters to gay and lesbian travelers and uses the URL RSVPCruises.com. (The two companies are linked in that you can use Jerry and David’s Cruises and Tours to book your cruise vacation through RSVP Vacations.) You might also be looking for information about booking a cruise that is not necessarily a gay cruise because you associate “RSVP” with “reservation,” but that is neither here nor there. For those who are looking to book an RSVP cruise, the gay cruises offered through RSVP Vacations, you’ve come to the right place, as this article is aimed at this one question: how do you book an RSVP cruise? RSVP Cruises
RSVP Cruises is one of the more confusing companies (or rather phrases) that you might encounter. By “RSVP Cruises,” one might mean one of the cruise vacations offered through RSVP Vacations, which organizes gay cruises (or actually gay and lesbian cruises, but most of their clients are men). However, “RSVP Cruises” could just as easily lead you (for reasons that will become clear below) to Jerry and David’s Cruises and Tours, a company distinct from RSVP Vacations (but they have a partnership of sorts because Jerry and David’s, a travel agency, can book RSVP Vacations’ cruises for their clients) that also specializes in gay and lesbian cruise vacations (along with gay and lesbian tours, but they emphasize cruises). Still further, one might search for “RSVP cruises” merely to find out something about booking a cruise, and nothing about gay cruises specifically. So, there is nothing straightforward about “RSVP Cruises,” but below we sort it out for you. Read more […] -
The Difference Between Freighter Cruises and Regular Cruises
Freighter cruises have been on our minds recently. First, we wrote an overview of freighter cruises, covering the essential information about these unique vacations, and then we explained how to book a freighter cruise, which was necessary because of the vast differences between booking a regular cruise and a freighter cruise. (By “regular cruise,” we simply mean a cruise vacation offered through a cruise line.) Reflecting on this last remark gave rise to the present article: booking a regular cruise is so much different from booking a freighter cruise because these two types of cruises are so different; however, they are both called “cruises,” which might suggest to some that they are more similar than they actually are. As stated, they are not similar at all, so we thought it would be beneficial to spell out the main differences between freighter cruises and regular cruises. And, to bring our reasoning full circle, hence the present article. Read more […]
