The Most Affordable Cruise Destinations

Traveling via cruise ship is actually one of the most affordable ways of seeing the world. Visiting a location on a cruise ship can often be cheaper than getting there by any other means, and ships also take care of your food and lodging. The price of your vacation, though, ultimately depends on where you want to go. There are some cruise destinations out there that are incredibly affordable.

The price it will cost to get somewhere on a cruise ship will also vary based on where you’re starting from, though. A cruise around Australia might be cheap for Australian citizens, but someone living in North America would need to pay a lot just to get to Australia in the first place. With that in mind, this article will go over the most affordable cruise destinations for people already located near the boarding port. In other words: airfare is not being heavily considered here.

The first areas that you should look at if you want a budget-friendly cruise are the Caribbean or the Bahamas. Cruise lines understand that these are the most popular cruise destinations – particularly for those new to cruises – so they always offer great rates. You can even find cruises to the Caribbean for around $100 round trip. If you combine that with some savvy shopping and deal hunting, you’ll basically be paying almost nothing. It is important to remember, though, that most of the cheapest Caribbean and Bahamas cruises are simply weekend getaways. That means you’ll really only get one day (or even a half day) actually on the beach.

Similar to the Caribbean, Mexico is also a very affordable cruise destination. These cruises tend to involve a lot of time on the ship rather than on the beach as well, but you can’t argue with the price. Many affordable Mexican itineraries depart from California rather than Florida, making them a great option if you’re closer to the West Coast of America.

If you’re not in the United States, you may want to take a look at itineraries headed towards Cyprus. The small island nation is beautiful, and cruises to and from Cyprus can often be found for around $200. That’s a great price. The most concise and cheap Cyprus cruises depart from Israel, so you’ll need to find a way to get there before your journey.

Finally, believe it or not, Alaskan cruises can generally be found around $300 round trip. Most depart from Seattle or Vancouver, making these itineraries convenient for anyone in the Pacific Northwest. And while Alaskan cruises get more expensive the longer your trip becomes, even the least costly are still pretty long. For instance, Carnival currently offers a six day itinerary to Juneau and Ketchikan for only $334. For the experience you get, that price is pretty unbelievable.

There are a lot of places in this beautiful world of ours that you can access from a cruise ship. Many of them don’t break the bank, either. If you’re looking for a vacation on a budget, any of these locations will be perfect.
