Trends in Cruising: Hot Destinations

Thinking about where to go for your next cruise? Wondering where you should head to see gorgeous landscapes and meet amazing people? You really could look at a map, point to almost anywhere, and make that region your next thrilling cruise adventure. The world is full of stunning locales with culture waiting to be discovered.

But, in case you’d rather have recommendations for a great cruise for 2016, the following are some of the hottest destinations for cruising this year and probably next.

Australia and New Zealand

Australia and New Zealand are red hot for cruises, especially among cruisers coming from North America. These destinations have improving economies that lend to spending long trips there (and making fun splurges while shopping and dining onshore). Also, the fact that their winter takes place when North Americans are in the throws of summertime is attractive for many travelers.

Asia

The cruise industry has been throwing mass investments into new vessels heading to Asia. Some of these updated and technologically advanced amenities are seen on Seabourn’s Odyssey, Holland American’s Nordam, and Celebrity’s Solstice – which are also currently offering a large number of itineraries to Asia.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica is an eco-friendly place that many travelers want to visit, due in part to the current trend in sustainable living and traveling. Windstar has two ships dedicated to sailing to Costa Rica this winter: a yacht-style vessel and a pure sailing ship.

In addition to these hot locales for cruising, Norway is growing in popularity, as is Cuba. River cruising fans are flocking to India too, to sail down the lovely Ganges.

Do you have any cruises planned to any of these locations? If so, we’d love to hear where you’re going. Drop us a note in the comments below.
