    Costco Cruises to Asia

In our guide and overview of Costco cruises, we mentioned that you can take a Costco cruise to the far corners of the globe. There is essentially no further corner of the globe than Asia, at least from the American (and partially European) perspective, and you can in fact take a Costco cruise to Asia. However, before you consider booking one of Costco’s Asian sailings, there are a couple of important things to keep in mind that we explain below. Read more […]

    Costco Cruises to Alaska

Alaska is one of the most popular cruise destinations in the world, so basically all enterprises associated with the industry (cruise lines, travel agencies, deal-aggregation websites, etc.) offer or promote Alaskan cruises, including Costco cruises. (Costco cruises aren’t really an “enterprise” in themselves, but are more like a division of Costco Travel, which provides travel-related service to Costco members.) There are a number of Costco cruises to Alaska on seven different cruise lines – Celebrity, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Disney, Norwegian, and Regent Seven Seas – and below we sort what is available through, and how you can book with, Costco directly. Costco Cruises to Antarctica

To be informed that there are Costco cruises to Antarctica could be doubly surprising – you may not be aware that Costco offers cruises, and you also might not know that there are cruises to Antarctica. Costco Cruises: A Guide and Overview

Most people think of Costco as a place to buy cheap food items and other merchandise in bulk, and while this is undoubtedly the company’s primary function, Costco also offers cruises, which we will call – what else? – Costco cruises. There is no Costco cruise line or Costco cruise ship, so the company doesn’t exactly “offer” cruises, at least not directly. Rather, the company facilitates the purchasing of, and makes arrangements for, the cruise vacations of members who book directly with Costco. Thus, Costco, or technically the subsidiary Costco Travel (wholly owned by Costco Wholesale Corporation), is a travel agency that Costco members can take advantage of. Below we provide a brief overview and guide to Costco cruises, which is really fairly simple. Read more […]

All-Inclusive Cruises: Is Food Included, and is it “All You Can Eat?”

Modern-day cruises are in many ways celebrations of excess, and nowhere is this more evident than in the dining habits of many cruise vacationers. On most cruises, food is included in the fare for the voyage, meaning that “all you can eat” cruises are the industry norm, and people take advantage of it. Moreover, there is food available 24 hours a day on many cruise lines, so you can eat as much as you want at any time, night or day. However, even if you are on an “all you can eat” cruise (which, again, is basically any cruise), this doesn’t mean that all the food on board the ship is available to you free of charge. There are certain limitations on what can be eaten for free, and if you aren’t careful, you could end up paying for food even on a vacation that is nominally an all-inclusive cruise. Read more […]
  • All-Inclusive Cruises: Which Cruise Lines Offer Them?

All-Inclusive Cruises: Which Cruise Lines Offer Them?

Essentially all cruise lines offer all-inclusive cruises, at least if you define “all-inclusive” in the most minimal way possible, where this term only means that room and (basic) board is covered by your cruise fair. If you define all-inclusive cruises extremely robustly, such that every cost associated with the cruise is included in the fare price, then there are practically no all-inclusive cruises. This much we covered in our overview of all-inclusive cruises. In the present article we list the cruise lines that offer something like an all-inclusive cruise. The cruise line needn’t cover every expense to warrant inclusion in our list, but they can’t merely give you a room on board the ship and a free meal and count themselves as all-inclusive cruises. With this guiding principle in mind, which cruise lines offer all-inclusive cruises? Read more […]
