New Cruise Ships for 2018 and 2019

It is always exciting to go on a cruise but getting to experience a brand new ship is something that only a few luck travelers get to enjoy. When booking for the remainder of 2018 there are 3 new ships that you will want to consider which are currently in service.

Carnival Horizon

The Horizon from Carnival Cruise Lines debuted in April and is making a huge splash with the Dr. Seuss WaterWorks. The ship also offers several new restaurants and an assortment of craft beer brewed right on the ship. Other activities include a Skybike experience which allows guests to pedal above the ship for a great bird’s eye view and a complete IMAX theater. And the new Family Harbor is a family-friendly section of the ship which offers large staterooms that can accommodate up to five guests.

Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas

Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas also debuted in April and focuses on offering a family-friendly experience. The Ultimate Family Suite is an amazing two-level stateroom that features a slide from the kids sleeping area to the family living room. The bright colors, kid-friendly furniture and family entertainment features such as Legos and an air hockey table make this a great way for the family to enjoy quality time while on vacation. The ship is designed to offer the feel of seven unique neighborhoods, each with its own style and flair. The brand new outdoor activities include two surfing simulators, mini-golf, a zip line and a 10 story, yes 10 story, water slide for the bravest guests.

Viking Orion

The Viking Orion is the latest cruise ship to enter service as it only began cruising this July. This is a small ship and offers just 465 balcony staterooms and cabins, each with its own balcony. The full capacity of the ship is only 930 guests so the experience is far more intimate than some of the larger vessels. The ship also offers two swimming pools and the traditional afternoon tea. The focus of this ship, as with all Viking vessels, is cultural immersion rather than the typical waterslides and disco lounges of most cruise ships. In addition, meals focus on local cuisine and are paired with local wine offerings.

Booking on a brand new ship is similar to being the first to enjoy a brand new movie but on a much grander scale. The cabins offer the latest creature comforts and functionality and the activities are some of the largest, most exciting and extravagant to be found at sea.
