The Scarlet Lady is scheduled to launch in 2020 as Richard Branson’s first ship in the Virgin Voyages Line. This 18 and over only cruise line will cater to those interested in over-the-top dining and drinking establishments as well as unrivaled adventures. And when the day’s excitement comes to an end, the cabins are going to set the bar for the latest and greatest in comfort and features.
Each cabin will offer a first for cruise ships in the way of a Seabed which is expected to function somewhat like a hidabed or futon to allow for a more appropriate space to entertain friends rather than sitting on a traditional bed. The lighting in the cabins will also automatically adjust to enhance the time of day based on the ship’s location. Group rooms will also be an option for single travelers who are looking to share space in a chalet-styled bunk area.
The ship will have a no tipping policy so passengers need not worry about cash or even adding gratuities. In addition, the layout of the vessel will include 1.330 cabins and 78 RockStar suites. And an amazing 93% of the cabins will have an ocean view while 86% will also enjoy a terrace. And these great cabins are just the beginning of what the Scarlet Lady will be offering passengers.
Many of the itineraries for the inaugural season have been finalized. The four- or five-night Havana After Dark cruises allow passengers to absorb the culture of Cuba while they explore during the overnight stay in Havana. Costa Maya, Mexico is the destination of the five-night Mayan Sol cruise. While in Costa Maya, passengers can enjoy excursions to the ancient ruins or dive the coral reefs to get a glimpse of all that the warm waters have to offer. The Dominican Daze cruise whisks passengers off to enjoy five exotic nights as well as an opportunity to explore Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. Guests can set out on a hike, try out a surfing class or explore the local shops for the perfect handmade gifts to take home.
Booking for the 2020 season on the Scarlet Lady begins on February 14, 2019, so keep that in mind when searching for the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for that special person in your life. There are very few opportunities in life to be the first to experience something as luxurious and carefully planned and executed as the Virgin Voyages first ever vessel to hit the open water.
